Baker & McKenzie
Baker & McKenzie was founded by Russell Baker and John McKenzie in Chicago
in 1949. The vision of the firm's founders, to assist clients with their
projects using internationally experienced and locally skilled attorneys, still
applies today.
Our international reach combined with our sophisticated knowledge management
systems forms the basis of our outstanding global network: we are able to give
clients the benefit of our international experience and local competence every
day.
With more than 3,600 attorneys in 38 countries, Baker & McKenzie today
belongs to the world's largest law firms.
In Germany we are located in Berlin, Duesseldorf, Frankfurt/Main and Munich. As
one of Germany's leading law firms, we advise national and international
clients on all aspects of business law.
Our German offices today comprise more than 180 lawyers and tax consultants. A
considerable number of these are also notaries, certified public accountants,
specialist taxation, labour and administrative law advisers.
Our focus on specialization, coupled with our in-house training for our German,
European and global practice groups, allows us to offer our clients the highest
quality advice. Our practice groups regularly exchange their experience and
knowledge at domestic and international levels.
At Baker & McKenzie most attorneys are familiar with their own jurisdiction
as well as foreign legal systems. Many of our attorneys have supplemented their
legal studies by studying foreign legal systems, practicing abroad, or
obtaining qualifications in a second discipline, such as economics or business
administration.
Our attorneys regularly speak at academic meetings, practice-related
conferences and seminars and have authored various legal publications.
We advise on complex labor law issues, global outsourcing projects, worldwide
trademark protection issues and complex telecommunications projects.
