General Questions

Q: What is the ICM?

A: It is the International Council Meeting of ELSA (The European Law Students' Association). It is held twice a year in different cities throughout Europe. In this event all ELSA National Groups gather to work together for the future of the Association. In October 2008 it takes place in Nuremberg, Germany.


Q: I came across an abbreviation / term I don't know, what does it mean?

Academic Activities workshop (Vice Presidents AA)

agenda

the program for the whole ICM is set up well in advance and is presented in the agenda

BEE WS

Board Management, External Relations and Expansion workshop (Presidents)

delegation

each NG can send 9 people to participate as its delegates in the ICM

Decision Book: The Compilation of all decisions taken by the Council (and still in force)

Questions regarding the ICM Nuremberg


Q: When does the ICM in Nuremberg take place?

A: October 26th - November 2nd, 2008


Q: What does the OC provide?

A:

  • water and soft-drinks to buy low priced

  • breakfast and two warm dishes each day (included in the participation fee) starting with lunch on October 26th until breakfast on November 2nd, if you booked extra nights the fees include bed&breakfast

  • internet access (of course for free), bring your own laptop


Q: What does the youth hostel provide?

A: rooms :-) with bedclothes, meals, showers


Q: What do I have to bring with me?

A:

  • towels

  • costumes for Halloween party

  • ELSA spirit(s)

  • for the workshops: WM, DB, SSO


Q: How is transport arranged?

A:

  • ELSA people will be welcoming you at Munich Airport (MUC) and Nuremberg Airport (NUE) on 25th and 26th October. If you will arrive on other days you can find on the website a list of train connections to Nuremberg.
    Shuttle transport for the participants is arranged only from Nuremberg airport (NUE).

  • In Nuremberg your luggage will be taken from the main station to the youth hostel for free. The youth hostel is in walking distance of the station.


Q: How should I prepare?

A: For workshops: read the WM, especially the part for the workshop you are going to attend, print the DB, SSO, take your activity report with you.
For the plenary: take with you the WM, DB, SSO


Q: What else is there to know?

A:

  • A supermarket is nearby for drinks and food.

  • A lot of nice pubs aswell...

  • daylight saving time!!!
